Little Routines, Gillian Stewart

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their beautiful baby daughter, a sister for Prince George.

A time to celebrate and share in their excitement. Babies are adorable, precious, bundles of joy.
Our bodies have a wonderful way of making sure that we are filled with endorphins after birth, making us feel elated.
Sadly, these endorphins don't last forever....
Eventually tiredness sets in and so called 'baby brain' takes over.
You can get through this short phase but try not to be super mummy. Set your little one into a good bedtime routine so you will all get some sleep.
The best tip I can give you is to teach your baby to self settle.
Look after yourself. The chores can wait.
Accept help if it's offered. It is the one time that you shouldn't feel guilty.
Every new mother will be going through this. So when you are up in the night, just think there are several thousand other mothers doing exactly the same thing.
The nights do get better, life goes on and before you know it your little one will be smiling and giggling back at you, making it all worth while.
Just enjoy this very special time.
