The Lullaby Trust and Partners have launched Safer Sleep Week today.

The aim is to raise awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and make parents aware on how they can reduce the risks of it occurring.


Around 700,000 babies are born every year in the U.K. The Lullaby Trust wants to reach out to all parents with new babies, with their safer sleep message.

There is a short video on the BBC news site, demonstrating the do's and don'ts of safe sleep with advice from The Lullaby Trust, the NHS and baby James.

It is worth making yourself familiar with the checklist for your own peace of mind.

The key message is as easy as ABC...
A. Always put your baby on their
B. Back to sleep, in a
C. Clear cot or sleeping space.
