Tips On Feeding
Gillian Stewart, Sunday, September 27, 2015

If you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed but also wanting your baby to take a bottle, whether it be early on or later down track please don't leave it too late to introduce the bottle.

The sucking technique a babies use for breastfeeding is very different to the one they need to use to suck from a bottle. Some babies make the change with ease but others can really struggle. Help make things a little easier for your baby by offering the bottle daily from the beginning.

There are so many bottles and teats on the market to choose from. I would advise you to buy the MAM anti colic bottles with silk teats. It is really all about the teat for these little babies. The MAM teats are soft and a good shape, so babies really do seem to suck very well from them.
You can give your baby expressed breast milk or formula. If you are unsure which brand of formula to buy, Aptimal 1 is very good.

Good luck with the feeding. Hungry babies are unhappy babies so if you can establish good feeds, you will have a happy baby and a happy baby means a happy mummy!
