World Book Day. A day when we celebrate everything wonderful about books.

Books provide children with endless fun, enjoyment and opportunities for learning.
They stimulate their intellectual development, expand their vocabulary, help build confidence and independence and also teach an understanding of the world around them.

You can introduce books to your baby from an early age. Babies will love the brightly coloured shapes and pictures. Read to your baby. They will really enjoy hearing the sound of words.

Story time is such a special time with your child so never rush a story. Share in your child’s wonder and enjoyment.

A few ideas for books that you may not have on the shelf at home...

The Dressing Up Dad by Maudie Smith. Very funny book highlighting the importance of being yourself.

Tiny Tantrum by Caroline Crowe. Delightfully funny story about tackling toddler tantrums.

Brilliant Bugs from the First Explorers Series. Each page has fun interaction for busy little fingers.

Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site: Let’s Go! by Sherri Duskey Rinke. Vehicle shaped sturdy pages with a rhyming text. Great fun.

Children can never have too many books.

Make every day a story day!
